OneFootball and Common goal announce partnership for women’s world cup 2027

OneFootball commits 2.7% of Women’s World Cup 2027-related advertising revenues to advance gender equity through football

OneFootball and Common Goal join forces ahead of the Women’s World Cup 2027 to turn the commercial growth of the women’s game into investment that helps raise the floor — strengthening the grassroots communities where opportunities for girls and women begin.

Berlin, 30 September 2026 — OneFootball and Common Goal today announced a new partnership aimed at driving positive social impact. As part of the collaboration, OneFootball will commit 2.7% of its Women’s World Cup 2027-related advertising revenues to Common Goal, embedding social impact directly into its commercial activities around the tournament. The partnership will also include content and event collaborations.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 will bring significant visibility, attention and commercial opportunity to the women’s game. But the pathways into football begin much earlier — on local pitches and within clubs and community organisations creating opportunities for girls and women every day. This collaboration is designed to connect the two, ensuring the growth of women’s football translates into greater opportunities for girls and women to play, stay, coach and lead at every level of the game.

Maurits Schön, COO of OneFootball, said:

“Women’s football represents one of the most exciting opportunities in our industry, and we believe its commercial growth and social impact can and should go hand in hand.

By committing 2.7% of our Women’s World Cup 2027-related advertising revenues to Common Goal, we are building on the 1% principle and raising our own ambition. We want to make it easy for brands investing in women’s football with OneFootball to become part of something bigger - accessing premium opportunities to reach fans while contributing to a broader purpose.”

The 2.7% commitment will support Common Goal’s work to advance gender equity through football, strengthening grassroots organisations and creating opportunities for girls and women. Beyond the financial contribution, the partnership will include content and event collaborations in the build-up to Brazil 2027, using OneFootball’s global platform to bring greater visibility to this work.

Mary Connor, CEO of Common Goal, said:

“Football only exists at scale because it exists in communities. Yet still today, in too many communities around the world, girls and women are pushed to the sidelines.

As investment in the women’s game accelerates, we need to make sure we are raising the floor as well as the ceiling — investing not only at the top of the game, but in the organisations, coaches, and communities that are working on the ground every day to create safe spaces for girls to play, learn, and thrive through football.”

The commitment builds on the 1% model pioneered by Common Goal, which for almost a decade has invited players, clubs, brands and other football industry stakeholders to pledge a share of their revenues to football for good. By committing 2.7%, OneFootball is building on that principle and raising its ambition around one of the defining opportunities for the future of the game.

The partnership also aims to provide a proof point for the wider industry. As brands, media platforms and commercial partners prepare for Brazil 2027, OneFootball and Common Goal want to encourage others to consider how their investment in the tournament can contribute to a legacy that reaches beyond it. The ambition is not for everyone to commit 2.7%, but for everyone to consider what their contribution can be.
